Brunswick, Ga. - The College of Coastal Georgia men's and women's tennis teams will host the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational this weekend at the on-campus tennis complex.

The tournament will be an individual flighted round-robin tournament featuring both singles and doubles competition. The event will take place Friday through Sunday with the matches starting at 9 a.m. each day and running through late afternoon.

In addition to Coastal Georgia, the event will showcase other top teams including the men's and women's teams from St. Leo, an NCAA Division II power, and Jacksonville State, an NCAA D-I program, and also the women's team from state junior college powerhouse Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Both the men's and women's tournaments will have six singles flights and three doubles flights with champions being crowned in each one after the round-robin events have concluded on Sunday.

The Coastal Georgia men will be in action in their individual matches on Friday at 11 a.m. with the women set to play their matches at 1 p.m. Both Mariners teams will be on the court at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The invitational event will be the final of three fall appearances for both Coastal Georgia teams.

"There will be a really strong field of teams," said Coastal Georgia coach Kemper Baker, who is in his second season as coach of  both Mariner programs. "This is our first-ever fall event, and we're excited about the level of competition that our kids will face. It's a great way to wrap up our fall schedule."
