Brunswick, Ga. – College of Coastal Georgia women's tennis player Nicole Faas has been named an NAIA Honorable-Mention All American following a successful freshman season with the Mariners team.
The All-American selections were made by the All-America committee after the completion of the recent NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship tournament. The list of honorees included 16 student-athletes who were named to each of the first and second teams and also 16 honorable-mention picks.
Faas who is from Switzerland finished with a 13-5 singles record this season, playing in the No. 3 position in the lineup for all but one match during the season.
She also teamed with junior Priti Rijal to play No. 1 doubles for all but one match during the season. The tandem, which was nationally-ranked at one time during the spring, finished 6-9 for the season.
"I am proud of Nicole and our team," said Coastal Georgia coach Kemper Baker, who led the No. 16-ranked Mariners to this year's national tournament in their first season of eligibility. "This individual honor is a testament to her hard work and our team's hard work this year. I am looking forward to seeing her continued development along with our team's development next year."
