Brunswick, Ga. – The College of Coastal Georgia is proud to announce that three of its women's tennis players have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Luisa Lopes, Elektra Hunter and Sunshine Beba (Marta Torrey Scholarship recipient) were all among the 119 women's tennis players from around the country to be named to the team which was just released near the conclusion of this week's NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship tournament.

The three Mariner players helped Coastal Georgia to the national championship tournament in its first season of eligibility.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.

Earlier, all three Coastal Georgia players were named to the Southern States Athletic Conference All-Academic team and were also chosen for the league's all-conference second team.
