Montgomery, Ala. – Several members of the College of Coastal Georgia men's and women's tennis teams have been named for superlative awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference.

For the Coastal Georgia men, both Louis Volclair and Jose Zaatini were named to the all-conference first-team after a vote by the league coaches.

Also for the Mariner men, both Malhar Mali and Alejandro Aquilino were named to the all-conference second team.

For the No. 14-ranked Coastal Georgia women, five players were voted to the all-conference second team including Elektra Hunter, Priti Rijal, Nicole Faas, Sunshine Beba and Luisa Lopes.

Also, Hunter, Rijal, Beba and Lopes were named to the SSAC All-Academic team.

Coastal Georgia head coach Kemper Baker was happy to see his players recognized by the conference.

"I am proud that our kids were recognized and rewarded for the work they have put in to have success this year," Baker said. "Hopefully, awards like these will motivate our kids to continue to work hard and improve their individual games so that our teams can achieve even more success as we continue to build our programs."

Both Coastal Georgia teams are set to begin play Friday in their respective conference tournaments.
