Valdosta, Ga. – The College of Coastal Georgia women's golf team ended up finishing seventh Tuesday in the Thomas University Invitational at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

The Mariners closed with a 346 in the second round after shooting 336 in the opening round to finish with a 682 score.

For the Mariners, Kylee Wheeler recorded a top-25 finish, placing 23rd in the individual standings with a 161 score. She shot 78-83 over the two days.

Also for Coastal Georgia, Megan Ramer tied for 32nd at 167 (82-85), Molly Antor tied for 36th at 169 (83-86), Kinsley Dowling finished 47th at 188 (96-92) and Megan Collins finished 48th at 189 (93-96).

The top two teams going into the final round remained the same. University of Cumberlands won the tournament, shooting 597 with scores of 294 and 303. Dalton State finished a close second, finishing at 599 with scores of 298 and 301.

Cumberlands also occupied the top two spots on the individual leaderboard as Kaitlyn Riley won the individual crown with a 4-under-par 140 score and her teammate Lucia Pena finished second at 145.

Three Dalton State players rounded out the top five including Caroline Griffin who was third at 148.

Coastal Georgia will go to Dalton Oct. 23-24 to compete in the Dalton State Invitational.
