Innisbrook, Fla. - The College of Coastal Georgia women's golf team opened its fall season Monday by playing 36 holes at the USCB Innisbrook Invitational.

The Mariners carded a 693 total over the two rounds, shooting 355-338 and find themselves in eighth place in the 13-team tournament after the opening day.

The final round in the 54-hole event hosted by USC-Beaufort is set for Tuesday. The tournament is taking place on the Islands Course at the Innisbrook Resort.

SCAD-Savannah, the nation's top-ranked team, leads the tournament with a 626 score after posting scores of 307 and 309 on Monday. Keiser is second at 635, USCB is third at 639, William Carey is fourth at 653 and Faulkner is fifth at 656.

Samantha Fuller from Keiser is the individual leader at 5-over-par 149 after shooting 76-73. Faulkner's Hannah Sager trails by two shots after posting a 151 with rounds of 78-73.

For Coastal Georgia, Kylee Wheeler led the team over the first 36 holes. She posted a 165 with rounds of 86-79 and was in 20th place in the standings after Monday's play.

Also for the Mariners, Molly Antor shot 172 (87-85) and is tied for 34th along with teammate Regam Ramer who shot 85-87.

Coastal Georgia's Megan Collins shot 184 (97-87) and is tied for 50th while Kinsley Dowling shot 205 (103-102) and 66th.

Antor was the only player in the Coastal Georgia lineup who had played an official competitive round as a college player. The other four members of the team are freshmen who were making their debut with the Mariners.
