Clinton, S.C. – The College of Coastal Georgia men's basketball team fell 90-48 Saturday afternoon to Presbyterian College here in an exhibition game.
Because the game was an exhibition for the Mariners, it does not count toward Coastal Georgia's won-loss record. The Mariners will break for Christmas with a 3-8 record.
Presbyterian is 4-6 for the season. The Blue Hose compete in NCAA Division I and are members of the Big South Conference.
The Blue Hose led Saturday's game 41-11 at halftime. Presbyterian outscored the Mariners 49-37 in the second half.
Jaylen Smallwood led the Mariners with 14 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Lewis followed with 10 points.
The Mariners were 17-of-68 from the field to finish shooting 25 percent for the game.
For the Blue Hose, Will Adams led all scorers with 24 points. Three other Presbyterian players also scored in double figures.
The Blue Hose were 35-of-66 from the field to shoot 53 percent for the day. PC was 8-of-20 from three-point range to shoot 55.6 percent beyond the arc.
Jo'Vontae Millner led Presbyterian with 12 rebounds while scoring 10 points for a double-double performance.
Darius Moore had six points, six boards, seven assists and four steals for the Blue Hose.
Coastal Georgia will return to action on Dec. 29 at Bethel. The Mariners also will play at Martin Methodist on Dec. 31. Both games are Southern States Athletic Conference matchups.
